so apparently, lil' h.b. does not think that i should get any sleep. or at least think i should not have an easy time reaching that blissful time of sleep.

because for the past couple weeks, it seems that you know, every now and then she'll kick during the day, and i mean, that's fine and good. though they are getting rather stronger and rather hard in the rib area, it means a healthy baby right? but come bed time, at the exact moment i lie down, good lil' h.b. decides to have  a hayday or party right in my stomach. literally. what the heck? then, after finally falling asleep (which might take an absurd amount of time)  i'll wake up sometime in the weird hours of the night needing to go to the bathroom, and i'll get settled in bed and there he goes again. my midwife says that's her active time, but honesty, why in the third trimester, when your big and fat and grouchy and big and wanting to be done with pregnancy and big and tired and worn out and big, did God have little babies have their active time at night.

it is beyond me.

other than that- i want to send thanks out to all the people who made my birthday perfectly wonderful and nice. it was probably one of the best birthdays i've had. so thanks to all!

apparently i am a once  a month blog updater. rats.

well, here goes the recent activites:

the trip to california was absolutely wonderful. time with the family and cousins and nice california weather was great. my davey played a pretty good tennis match and i am quite proud of him. the baby shower was wonderful and i am again reminded how blessed i am.

christmas is in full swing at the hocker house. thursday we went wassailing in our cute little village of richland where there was a ballet performance, roast beef sandwhiches, hot cider and cookies. we also made an ornament for the family. friday dave took me on a date to watch the kalamazoo concert band which played a lot of fun christmas songs. yesterday, we got our first christmas tree! it's all decorated and our house has the wonderful smell of pine and cranberry candles. our lights are up outside and our stockings hung. and last weekend went outlet shopping with the in-laws which got a lot of names crossed off my list. it was a fun weekend too**! (thanks corie!) amen to the christmas season!

yesterday marked week 31 of the pregnancy. wow- only nine more weeks! it's sure gone by fast, and let me tell you, i am sure ready to see baby hocker! i mean, also, the back aches have increased, so seeing him or her would also reduce that problem. but each day i wake up thinking that i can't possibly get any bigger and im positive that if i stretch one more millimeter, i might explode. but then each day i am surprised that it continues to stretch and i continue to get bigger. i can only imagine what nine weeks from now is going to look like. yikes. also, my pride in my previous nice deep in-y bellybutton is gone. i now have a flat-y as there is no in or out of the bellybutton. there is just, no bellybutton. at my last appointment everything checked out fine- weight is continually...increasing. tummy is 29 centimeters and heartbeat is between 130-140. still no idea if it's a boy or girl. we shall see!

and, that's about all. i've been subbing a lot recently which is good, but also seems to wear me out by the end of the day. oh, and we've been really blessed by the church we have been going too. so far, in our small group, there are three young couples in the 2 years married and under club who are currently 21 weeks, 10 weeks, and 6 weeks pregnant! we are so thankful to have been in our life stage at our church! dave's also in the church basketball league which starts this saturday. let's just say he's pretty stoked. that's about all for now!

**also, i have to make a shotout to my hubby. on said weekend when i went away shopping, mind you, upon my arrival home, i was amazingly shocked. not only had my husband cleaned out the boxes outside, moved all our baby stuff to his grandmas house for keeping right now (as we don't have enough room in our apartment), cleaned out our guest closet and cleaned out the jeep (all tasks that i was wanting to do pre-arrival of h.b (hocker baby)) but he also sneakily got me a new phone which i didn't deserve since i lost my phone charger in california. but instead of going to the sprint store and just getting a new charger, he came home with a new charger and a new phone for me. what a hubby!

california here we come!

only a couple of more days until we leave! yippee!

my mom said the other day that it was 93 in California while here in Michigan, it was 63. yikes. that's a big difference. time to get out tank tops and shorts again!

dave and i are going for a couple of days to be with the family for thanksgiving. my dad's side of the family has this big reunion type thing every two years, and last time it was in south carolina. this time, however, it is it palm springs, which is quite okay with me. bring on the pool!

other than that- i have spotted multiple cars lately carrying one to three dead bucks on them. apparently, hunting season has started and apparently, it's a big deal. today in church the welcome on the screen read "Happy Thanksgiving and Hunting Season." hmmm, something i am not used to. also, it snowed a bit this past week. bring on the hot cocoa!

i hope everyone has a good thanksgiving!
